Suffolk Police Fourth Squad detectives are investigating a motor vehicle crash that left a 16-year-old bicyclist in serious condition in Kings Park this morning.

Brian Simmons, 21, of Kings Park, was driving his 2008 Chevrolet pickup truck west on Meadow Road when his vehicle struck a teen riding a bicycle near Magellan Drive at approximately 10 a.m. The bicyclist, Jonathan Tully, 16, of Kings Park suffered a head injury and was transported to Stony Brook University Medical Center by Suffolk County Police helicopter where he was admitted in stable but guarded condition.

The Chevrolet was impounded for a safety check and the investigation is continuing.
