Smithtown Man Arrested For Selling Counterfeit Sports Apparel

Ronald QuinnSuffolk County Police today arrested a man for selling counterfeit sports apparel at a store in Smithtown.

Fourth Precinct Crime Section officers executed a search warrant after receiving a tip that counterfeit sports apparel was being sold at The Sports Shop, located at 298 Maple Ave. 

Officers seized the counterfeit NHL, NFL, MLB, and NBA merchandise that had a street value of approximately $50,000.

Police arrested Ronald Quinn, 46, of Smithtown, and charged him with Trademark Counterfeiting 2nd Degree. He is scheduled to be arraigned at First District Court in Central Islip on March 21.

A criminal charge is an accusation. A defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
