Obituary - Robert P. Flanagan

Flanagan, Robert P., Age 75, of New Bern, North Carolina, formerly of Commack, NY, passed away at home in peace and love surrounded by his family on November 6, 2012. Robert was active in his community and church, with a life dedicated to service to others. He gave to his country as a Sergeant in the U.S. Army. He was a member of St. Paul Catholic Church, the Coast Guard Auxiliary, Medic 17 Rescue, Train Club, Knights of Columbus, DAV in New York and North Carolina, and the Fishing Club at Fairfield Harbor.

He is preceded in death by two siblings, Edward and Margaret and one great grandson, Thomas. Robert is survived by his wife Kathleen, three sons, Robert (Gayann) Flanagan Jr., John (Jennie) Flanagan, Thom Flanagan, and two Daughters Catherine (John) Lenihan and Margaret (Fabio) Iadeluca. Devoted brother of James Flanagan.  Step-Father of Denise Lomangino & Richard (Tricia) Diehl. Cherished Grandfather of ten and adored Great Grandfather of five.

Funeral Service and interment was held at St. Patrick’s Cemetery in Smithtown, NY.
