He was the beloved husband of Faith Loving  father of Janice (Raymond L.) Mauro, Donald Pesce and Faith (Steven P.) Bennett. Cherished Grandfather of Andrea, Raymond III, Cassandra, Steven Jr., Joseph and Dominic. Adored Great Grandfather of eight.

Funeral Mass was celebrated at Christ the King R. C. Church Commack, NY. Interment followed at Calverton National Cemetery.

Obituary - Catherine (Higgins) Hastings

Hastings – Catherine (nee Higgins) of Smithtown, New York on September 16, 2012 at age 86. 

Born August 31, 1926 in New York City and grew up in Ridgewood, Queens. Valedictorian of Grover Cleveland High School and graduate of Katherine Gibbs College. Legal secretary for prominent New York law firm Shearman & Sterling.  Later worked in the Development Office at St. Anthony’s High School. Devoted reader, baker, golfer, bridge player and solver of the NYT crossword puzzles.

Married for 55 short years to the late beloved Harry. Loving mother of Tom (Arlen) of Princeton, NJ, Mary Kay of Washington, DC, Suzanne (Bob Farrell) of Smithtown, Victoria (David Garcia) of Ithaca, NY.  Grandmother of Sara and Kevin Hastings, Zachary and Emmitt Moore, Christopher and Patrick Farrell, Daniel and Patience Garcia.  Sister of John Higgins.

Funeral Mass was celebrated at Infant Jesus R.C. Church, Port Jefferson, New York.
