Death Notice - Edward (Ed) G. Prevosto

Prevosto, Edward G. Known by his friends as “Ed,” passed away on May 29, 2018 at Stony Brook hospital with his wife of 34 years, Eva, and his sister, Virginia by his side. Ed retired from the New York State Department of Civil Service as an assistant civil engineer. He was an avid woodworker, sportsman, and devoted husband.

He was a loving and caring person to all who knew him. He is survived by his wife, Eva; sister, Virginia; his daughters Nancy, Regina, Carol, Arlene, Tunde (and husband Ken), and Hajnalka; his six grandchildren, Christopher, Ken, Casey, Kevin, Michaela, and Corey; his two great grandchildren, Brantly and Kenneth; and numerous nephews and nieces. He is predeceased by his brother, Joseph. Ed will be remembered for his big heart, generosity, and kindness. A memorial service was held in memory of Ed June 1, 2018 at 8 p.m., at the St. James funeral home, 829 Middle Country Rd, St. James, NY 11780. Donations in memory of Ed can be made to Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center.
