Obituary - John J Cummings

 

Cummings, John J. Age 84 Of Smithtown, NY passed away peacefully with family members by his side on Wednesday November 8, 2017. Born and raised in Rockaway Beach NY. Jack was a proud veteran of the U.S. Navy, serving his nation during the Korean conflict. Upon his discharge Jack returned to Rockaway where he met and married the love of his life, his wife of 61 years, Rose. Together they lived in Smithtown for over 50 years raising their 6 children. Jack worked for Grumman Aerospace for 40 years, retiring in 1994. He was a lifelong parishioner of St. Patrick’s R.C. Church in Smithtown. He was also active in many affairs including the Knights of Columbus. In addition to his devoted wife Rose, Jack is also survived by his six children, Kevin, Patty, Loretta, John Jr., Chris, and Rose Mary and nine grandchildren. He is survived by many other family members and friends Funeral Mass was celebrated at St. Patrick’s R.C.
