Seven years ago, Amanda Vigliarolo accepted a cashier position at Buon Amici Bakery in Smithtown. Fast forward to the same location (975 West Jericho Turnpike) today and find Amanda busy with the June opening of her business, The Whisk Bakery & Café. While overseeing renovations and waiting on permits, Ms. Vigliarolo will attend her graduation from Johnson and Whales in Rhode Island in May.
Full of passion and energy, this 21 year-old-business owner is banking on her community roots, hands-on experience, and academic knowledge to deliver traditional sweets with an updated twist in a welcoming setting.
The Whisk Bakery & Café is a full-service bakery offering cakes (to-go and custom), pies, cookies, pastry and breads. Homemade ice cream, gelato, coffee, cappuccino, and espresso are also planned.” I want to offer Mega Milk Shakes (like the ones served in Manhattan) with a slice of cake and other confectionary garnishes. Customers will have the ability to create their own custom ice cream sandwiches with any pastry or cookie in the bakery”, beamed Vigliarolo.
Summer hours will be extended to 11:00PM. Patrons will be able to enjoy café seating with Wi-Fi and phone charging accommodations. Gluten-free, and sugar-free products; cake by the slice, daily specials and promotions are underway.
