Metzger, Stephen Arnold was born on November 23, 1956 and died on October 13, 2016 in San Juan Capistrano, California after fighting a courageous battle with cancer over the past eight months. Stephen grew up in Smithtown, New York, graduated from Smithtown High School in 1974 and then attended Clarkson University in Potsdam, New York, receiving his Bachelors of Science – Mechanical Engineering Degree in 1979. Upon graduation, Stephen looked west for opportunities in warmer climates, and accepted a job offer with Bechtel Power Corporation in Southern California. Over the next years, Stephen’s career continued to advance, and in 1992, he was one of the founding shareholders of LCS Constructors, Inc. of Irvine, California. Over the next twenty five years, he was instrumental in building LCS into a nationally recognized builder of laboratories and technical facilities. He was devoted to family and friends, as well as his extended LCS “work“ family. Stephen is survived by his father, Arnold (Gus) Metzger; his sons, Patrick and Michael Metzger; and his sister’s family, Ellen and Scott Drinkwine and Brian Drinkwine.
