Obituary - William O'Connell

William O’Connell age 80 passed into the spirit world on Jan. 14, 2018 in Palm Bay, Florida. Formerly from Commack, NY, he was born and raised in Kings Park, NY to the parents of Celia and William O’Connell.    

Bill attended St. Joseph’s elementary school and St. Anne’s academy during middle and high school.  After high school, he enlisted in the USAF. Bill worked for Pan Am airlines for 31 years and retired from American Airlines as a jet airplane  mechanic.  Bill was known for his great stories, sense of humor, fun personality, and wonderful smile.  

Bill’s favorite stories to tell were of the times he spent summers as a child in Ireland with his father and his fond childhood memories of the bluff in Kings Park. 

In addition to his parents, Bill is preceded by his daughter Erin whom he loved deeply.  He is survived by his wife Annette of 62 years. Children Patti Anne, Willie, Raymond, and Kelly.  Grandchildren Erin Jade, Brittney, Sean, and Billy.  Great-Grandchildren; Madison, Gabriella, Brianna, and a baby boy on the way.  

A celebration of life will be held in the clubhouse at the Holiday Park Estates on Saturday, February 10th at 1:00 pm.  Bring a bathing suit and towel in case it’s warm.  

He was a maker of love stories and will be missed very much by all that knew him.
