Obituary - Norma J. Garett

GARETT, Norma J., age 87 of Middle Island, NY died on October 31, 2013. She was the beloved wife of the late Gerald. Cherished mother of Maureen (John) Polizzi and Allan Garett. Loving Grandmother of Michelle, Stephen and Michael.

Obituary - Gloria Rose Semente

SEMENTE - Gloria Rose, 80, passed away on November 16, 2013. Loving sister, aunt and researcher. Gloria was a dedicated and loving aunt who was always generous to charity. Her love of animals, particularly dogs, results in dedication of much of her estate to relieve their pain and suffering.

She graduated from Fordham University and performed research at Columbia University where part of her life’s work was cancer research. Later in her career she worked at Scheine, Fusco, Brandenstein & Rada Law Firm where she looked over the interests, protection and disability rights of injured workers. She is survived by her brother Arthur(Rosalie), nephews Raymond (Irene) and Mark, nieces, Pat, Karen (Robert), Lauren (Richard), Deborah (Steven), and pre deceased by her loving niece Catherine.

Funeral Mass was celebrated at St. Anthony of Padua Roman Catholic Church in Rocky Point. Interment to followed at Commack Cemetery.

Obituary - Robert A. "Bob" Cherhan

CHERHAN, Robert A. “Bob” a beloved husband, father and Grandfather, died on November 9, 2013 . Formally of Fort Solonga, NY  in Clermont, Fl. They Shall not be forgotten. Proud Veteran of the United States Air Force. His career was spent working as a carpenter in such places in Disney and Sea World where he worked inside the Epcot Ball and on various pavilions around the parks. He lived and worked in Fl in the 1970’s and in 2005, he retired from Ft. Solonga, NY and later returned to Fl. He loved softball and bowling and was an accomplished and avid woodworker. He was the beloved husband of Patricia. Loving father of Linda Roth, Michael Cherhan, Ellen Peterson and Joseph Cherhan. Cherished Grandfather of Heather Roth, Matthew Roth, Brianna Peterson and Amelia Cherhan. Adored brother of Linda Deme, Vicky Oniszko and Debbie Caterraccio. He is survived by many beloved friends and neighbors.

Funeral Mass was celebrated at  St. Elizabeth Church, Melville, NY. Interment followed at St. Charles Cemetery.
