Obituary - Marjorie Larsen

Larsen, Marjorie – January 26, 2011.  We mourn the passing and celebrate the life of this woman of all seasons, beloved mother of Lisa Larsen Hill & Gerard Larsen, mother-in-law to Roger Hill and grandmother to Leah Larsen.  Marjorie brought an unquestionable zest to life and to all she met.  She had a passion for helping others starting by emulating her mother’s life, studying to be a nurse at Bellevue.  She was Executive Director of the Senior Citizens Department of Smithtown and was instrumental in bringing Smithtown Senior Citizen Center to fruition.  Her career with seniors began with RSVP (Retired Senior Volunteer Program).  She leaves behind a legacy of programs for seniors.  Her pride and joy was the Golden Showcase, where seniors could bring their arts and crafts to market.  She was an officer of the NY State National Conference on Aging.  She was an influential member of the US Delegation for the advancement of senior citizens with the People to People Exchange traveling to China and Africa.  In recognition of her outstanding achievements she was honored by Suffolk County with a Marjorie Larsen Day.  The programs she instituted have and will endure, touching lives of countless people.  She relished her cooking shows, playing bridge with her many friends, art, and traveling the world.  She was known for her strength, kindness, integrity, wisdom and humor.  

Obituary - Kathryn M. Doheny

Doheny, Kathryn M.  Age 82 of Calverton, NY formerly of Smithtown on January 12, 2011. A native of Binghamton, NY, a graduate of St. Catherine’s School of Nursing, Kay was active in St. Patrick’s Parish and Catholic Daughters of America. 

Beloved wife of the late Dr. Justin E.  Loving mother of Justin (Dana), Kathleen (Donis) Flagello, Jane (Phil) Moreschi, Eileen Edge,Lawrence (Dee), Erin (Richard) Hill, Genevieve (John) Connaughton, &Regina (Kevin) Kolvereid. Cherished grandmother of 26 and great grandmother of 2.

Funeral Mass was celebrated at St. Patrick’s RC Chruch, Smithtown.  Cremation with internment followed at St.John’s Cemetery, Middle Village,Queens, NY.

Fahey, Roger J. Age 80 of Saint James, NY passed peacefully at home on February 1, 2011.  Beloved husband of Florence Joan.  Loving father of Kathleen (Terence) Warehime, John Manning, Mark (Cindy)  Manning, Paula Armioia, Roseann (Timmothy) Fugit, Susan (Brian) Morrissey, the late John (Jennifer) Fahey, Steven Fahey, & Joann (John) Lanza. Devoted brother of Gerald (Rose) Fahey & Kathleen (William) Nolan.  Cherished grandfather of 21.  Adored great grandfather of 4

Lahann- Roland H.  age 75 of Smithtown, NY passed away peacefully on January 18, 2011.  Ex Chief and Ex Commissioner of the Smithtown Fire Department.  Past President of the Suffolk Fire Chief’s Counsel.  Past President of Smithtown Fire Department Chief’s Counsel Safety Officer.  Active member of Smithtown Department for over 58 years.  Beloved husband of Violet, Loving father of Donnalee, (John) Gray and Robert (Lynette) Lahann.  Cherished grandfather of Danielle, Crystal, Johnny, Vanessa, Gavin, Cory, Skylar.

Funeral Mass was celebrated at St. Andrew’s  Lutheran Church, Smithtown, NY.  Private cremation followed
