Maerkle, Alfred Joseph, age 83, of Smithtown, on January 26, 2012.  Proud US Army Korean War Veteran.  Beloved husband of Margaret for 60 years.  Loving father of Alfred, Margaret Ellen Vrabec, John, Kevin, and Paul.  Cherished grandfather of seven and great-grandfather of 3.  Visitation Sunday 2-4 & 7-9 PM at the Fives Smithtown Funeral Home, 31 Landing Ave. Smithtown. Religious Service Sunday 8:00 PM.  Prayer Monday 10:00 AM at the funeral home.  Burial to follow at Calverton National Cemetery with military honors.  www.fivesfuneralhome.com
