Obituary - John J. Wood
Monday, November 12, 2012 at 1:55PM John J. Wood, of St. James, passed away November 9, 2012 at the age of 88. Beloved husband of the late Frances. Loving father of Brian Wood, and his wife Nancy, and Kathleen Wood, and her husband Tom Glanz. Cherished grandfather of Emily, Keith, and Murphy. Devoted great-grandfather of Blare and Tessah.
John was a pilot for the Royal Canadian Air Force during World War II. John also worked for Grumman Aerospace for over 39 years before retiring. He was an avid hobbyist. He enjoyed oil painting, watch making, and model building.
Memorial Visitation will be held Friday November 16th from 1:30-2:30 PM at Fives Smithtown Funeral Home, 31 Landing Ave., Smithtown, NY 11787. Religious Service at 2:30 PM. Burial to follow at St. James Episcopal Cemetery. http://www.fivesfuneralhome.com/
