Obituary - David Allen Sumner

SUMNER, David Allen- born 1948 died on April 21, 2014 after a courageous battle with cancer. He survived by his wife of 44years, Patty; his loving children David D., Amy Griffin, and Andrea(nee Lamm); his beloved four grands Kalil, Tyler, Renee, and Kaitlyn. Also surviving are his siblings Daniel, Mary, Mary Jo and Kerry. He was an avid golfer, boater and retired from a very successful career in the railroad industry. His longtime phrase “Who could have it better,” was his philosophy of life. Friends may call the St. James Funeral Home, 829 Middle Country Road, St. James (Route 25) on  Thursday 7-9pm & Friday 2-4pm & 7-9pm. Funeral Service Friday 8pm at funeral home. Interment on Saturday at St. James Episcopal Cemetery, St. James,NY

Mr. Sumner ’s funeral arrangements were professionally supervised while the Sumner Families were lovingly cared for during their bereavement by Kenneth, Kerry and Ken Jr., the Maher Family of the St. James Funeral Home, in St. James.
