GASSAWAY Jr.—Blake J., Age 26, of Mastic Beach, passed on May 20, 2014. Beloved son of Blake and Barbara. Loving brother of Tom, Jimmy and Joseph. Cherished stepbrother of Brian and Patricia.

Dear Blake...........I'm Melanie's dad, Pete and I was saddened by your early journey to meet our Lord....I want to thank you for being there for us when Mel's dog, "Sunny" was hit by a car and I deteriorated into a pile of mush....You tried to console me and told me that I was the strongest person you know and this will pass.....I never thanked you for being there to console me and Mel......I would like to say you were a very hard worker, laying floors down all day long on all fours and I will miss you. I remember the barbecue at your apartment and the swing you bought for Melanie, and the dog "Nina" that you and Mel had.....(Remember when she ran away?) May God bless you ---Pete V.
