Calio, Leonarda (Nadine) Cassata, Age 99, of Hauppauge, NY, formerly of Whitestone, passed on December 23, 2012. Beloved wife of Thomas for 63 years. Loving mother of JoAnne (Frank) DiMartino and Paul (Virginia) Calio. Cherished grandmother of Matthew, Christina, Andrew, and Thomas. Adored great-grandmother of Jacob.

Funeral mass was celebrated at St. Patrick’s R.C. Church in Smithtown. Interment followed at St. Patrick’s Cemetery.

Obituary - Thomas R. O'Donnell

O’Donnell, Thomas R. of Massapequa, NY passed away on November 30, 2012 at the age of 83.  After serving his country in the Navy, he became a member of the Theatrical Teamsters Local 817.  He rose to become its President, a position he held for fifty years, retiring in March of this year.  An influential figure in not just the Labor Movement, but the Entertainment Industry as well, he pioneered an innovative, collectively bargained scholarship fund that enabled the dependent children of all members of Local 817 to attend college cost free.  He is survived by his three children, Edward, Thomas J., and Christine, 9 grandchildren & 1 great grandchild. 

Funeral Mass was celebrated at St. Rose of Lima Roman Catholic in Massapequa, NY. Interment followed at Greenfield Cemetery. 

In Lieu of Flowers donations can be made to the Thomas R. O’Donnell Scholarship Fund Care of Local 817 127 Cuttermill Rd. Great Neck, NY 11021.
