Obituary - John J Cummings

 

Cummings, John J. Age 84 Of Smithtown, NY passed away peacefully with family members by his side on Wednesday November 8, 2017. Born and raised in Rockaway Beach NY. Jack was a proud veteran of the U.S. Navy, serving his nation during the Korean conflict. Upon his discharge Jack returned to Rockaway where he met and married the love of his life, his wife of 61 years, Rose. Together they lived in Smithtown for over 50 years raising their 6 children. Jack worked for Grumman Aerospace for 40 years, retiring in 1994. He was a lifelong parishioner of St. Patrick’s R.C. Church in Smithtown. He was also active in many affairs including the Knights of Columbus. In addition to his devoted wife Rose, Jack is also survived by his six children, Kevin, Patty, Loretta, John Jr., Chris, and Rose Mary and nine grandchildren. He is survived by many other family members and friends Funeral Mass was celebrated at St. Patrick’s R.C. Church, Smithtown, NY. Interment with Military Honors followed at Calverton National Cemetery. Arrangements entrusted to the professional care of Branch Funeral Home of Smithtown and Vigliante family. Gilroy, Raymond P., age 91 of Nesconset, NY  passed away peacefully on November 10, 2017.They Shall Not Be Forgotten. Proud Veteran United States Marines WW II. He was the beloved husband of the late Sheila. Cherished father of Eileen Lazzaro, John (Debra) Gilroy, Brian (Debbie) Gilroy, Donna Brinkworth, Mary Bucci, Anne (Roy) Roxburgh and the late Carol Pavone. Loving Grandfather of twenty and Great Grandfather of thirteen. He is survived by many other family members and friends. Funeral Mass was celebrated at St. Patrick’s R.C. Casamassima, Roseanne, (nee: Scopelliti) of Lake Grove, NY on October 23, 2017. Beloved mother of the late Denise Casamassima DeMaio and the late Lisa Casamassima. Dear daughter of the late Thomas and the late Roseann Scopelliti. Loving sister of the late Marie Cancro and the late Thomas Scopelliti, Jr. Cherished aunt of Donna Cancro Chider, Guy (Jeannette) Cancro, Anthony Cancro, Marisa (Edward) Sorrentino, Diane Leo, and Jennifer Scopelliti. Adored grand- aunt of Justin, Edward, Diana, Daniel, Lisa, Megan, Giana and Nicholas and great- grand aunt of Robert, Isabella and Jordan. She is survived by many other family members and friends. Funeral Mass was celebrated at Sts. Obituary - John J. Morgan

 

Morgan, John J. Age 82, passed peacefully at his home in Raleigh, N.C. Beloved husband of the late Natalie, nee Jones. Loving father of Anne (Michael) Schapiro, Michael (Tina) Morgan, Daniel (Lee) Morgan, Lance Morgan, Kevin Morgan and the late Ellen Morgan. Devoted grandfather of Alissa & Jonathan Schapiro, John, Luke & Elena Morgan, Elizabeth, Abby, Caroline and Alex Morgan. Cherished great-grandfather of Lucy, Jude and Max. John was a graduate of Smithtown High School and worked as an electronic technician for Grumman Aerospace. He loved travelling with his wife, Natalie, and she was the light of his life. He was a devout Catholic as well as a Eucharist Minister for several parishes over his lifetime. He was an avid salt water fisherman and deer hunter. He also enjoyed woodworking, making furniture and specialty items for his family. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the American Heart Association. Funeral Mass was clebrated at St. Patrick’s R.C.
