Death Notice - Barbara Ann Rado

Rado, Barbara Ann of Calverton, NY. Born in New Rochelle. Her parents Charles and Ann Schoenherr, were lovingly known to most as Pop and Nana. Barbara was one of six children, Charles, Arthur, John, Marianne and Louise. Barbara was the proud parent of  Deborah, Philip, Patricia, Arlene and Paul. She was blessed with 20 grandchildren to spoil and one great grandchild to really spoil. Barbara worked in Sears for over 30 years at Smithaven Mall. Shortly after retiring, she joined the Rocky Point School District as an aid, which she loved, and was there for over 10 years. Barbara loved to travel. Cruising was something she did best, along with spending endless hours at the beach reading a good book. Barbara loved cooking, planning holiday get togethers and most of all spending time with her family. Barbara was a straight shooter and she would tell you exactly how it was in a way that no one else could. She believed everyone should work hard, nothing in life was free and life wasn’t fair; which we all know today more than ever. Barbara was full of life and always ready for the next adventure. She gave her children so much and her only request in return was “stay close to one another “.

Barbara passed away August 30, 2016 leaving us all too soon. She has left shoes to big to fill by anyone. Funeral Mass was celebrated at St. Anthony of Padua R.C. Church. Cremation followed at Washington Memorial Park Arrangements entrusted to the professional care of Branch Funeral Home of Miller Place and Vigliante family. Online guest book at www.branchfh.com
